I heard we beat the Math - CS club in the first heat -- they were in the lead, but they sank. Were they the spear-chuckers?

I think they might have been. The third boat in our heat sank near the beginning, so it must have been them. Twas quite funny cause the spear grazed my shoulder and then was left floating in the slough for the rest of the race.
People were throwing spears?
Okay, that's awesome. Next year, you guys need to build a cardboard cannon of some sort.
I don't know about cannons, but I've got some ideas on trebuchets made with only legal materials!
