Last Week's Wonderful Events
So here's the update on last week.
Wednesday, I tried to give blood, but was rejected due to low iron. Next time remind me to eat a car before I go in. But not my Saturn, it's plastic. And I like it.
Thursday, the club decorated the atrium and the discussion room. Our multicultural tree is once again decorated with springs and equation balls. I say multicultural, because it is topped with a glowing photo of Albert Einstein, who was Jewish. It was suggested that the equations would stand out better if they were written in puffy paint rather than Sharpie. We may do that this Thursday at the meeting, although there is something to be said for subtlety. Oh, I forgot, "'Tis the season to be gaudy, falala-lala-lala-la-la."
Saturday, of course, was the party at Sieglaffs'. 17 people tried to cram themselves around their dining room table, until we were encouraged to spread out. The snowball fight was fun, although my snowballs wouldn't hold together, and I lost big time. One of few games I don't mind losing! The food was awesome, nothing like hot soup after a snowball fight. And although I'd eaten too much soup, breadsticks, cookies, and cake, when the ice cream came out, I couldn't resist. I still believe the mantra from my childhood: "There's always room for ice cream!"
Sunday, guess what! At long last, I got a sofa for the physics lounge. My apologies to all the alums who were asking for a sofa for years, but my mother-in-law finally got tired of her "old" sofa. It is currently sitting near the north entrance of the science building; we just need to figure out where to put it. And someone has to help me move it, since my genetic mutations strangely didn't give me superstrength.

You should have stayed in the snowball fight longer. When we went across the street we found alot of good packing snow. And it would have given me someone else to chase and throw snow at. *grin*
Yay, for sofas. Now the people who took it just have to give it back to us.
Opps, forgot to add this. If we want some fractals to put up in the discussion room perhaps we can bring it up at the next meeting and people can pick their favorites and I can get them.
