See Robot Run!

Why does everything always happen at once?

Interviewing for Dr. Renneke's postion, final exams (quantum final* - today), and getting ready for shipping the QCElite robot to Chicago for competition (ship date - today).

I spent much of the weekend at the mall, and I didn't buy anything but food. The robot was being tested at an empty store in Southpark Mall. It is just awesome! If you are one of the sad folks who didn't get a chance to see it in person, check out this video.

That video was taken on Saturday. Since then, both the robot and the drivers have improved. Now the robot can even do some things in autonomous mode - driving itself without remote control - thanks to the programming team, headed by none other than the incomparable Nick Vogel!

The robot also made the newspaper on both sides of the river, and at least three local TV stations. And this blog, of course, whose readership is certainly greater than the Times, Argus, and Dispatch put together. Those readers just somehow are able to avoid my statcounter ;)

Check the blog on Thursday and see if I survived it all! And see who wins the second blog contest.

*Yes, I am aware the exam is more stressful for the students than for me.
