Open House - Man, That Was Fun!

The open house went very well today. Everyone seemed to be having fun - both workers and visitors. I know I was. Some of the new demos are really awesome (some of the old ones, too).

Everyone liked playing with the Oobleck and hand boiler, and liquid nitrogen was a big hit, as always. Jake made his Rube Goldberg machine consistently turn the lights on four times in row, in the most amazing way - I hope Dr. Renneke got a video! I didn't get to see visitors' reactions to the laser demos, because I was always in the wrong place at the wrong time, but personally I enjoy seeing the green laser reflect green off of all different colors of objects, but then look yellow when it shines on the fluorescent toy! As for my motion demos, well, I pretty much broke everything. Just should not let professors do this stuff!!

Update 4/16/07
And we got in today's Dispatch newspaper, with a plug for next week's science open house!
