Reminders and Minutes

Reminder, if you are interested in a paid research internship in physics (or other science/math/computers/engineering), deadlines for many of them are coming up in February. Take a look at the list on the physics site and the NSF search site.


And here are the Physics Club meeting minutes for Jan. 24th. Courtesy of Alaina and CJV

-Upcoming events: Bowling on Sunday Feb. 10th at 2, place TBA.

-The Science Day and another Physics Open House will be in the spring. One of them will be on siblings weekend. We still don't know what weekend that is

-Fundraising ideas: selling glowsticks, dirt dessert, jello, astro pics, and perhaps a trebuchet-target contest.

-The Samurai sword talk is, tentatively, on Thurs. Feb 7th at 11:30. We will then show the Nova episode at 6 that evening.

-We will be having a t-shirt design contest again this year.

-Next term we will have the trip to the Radiology department of Trinity Medical Center on 7th Street in Moline.

-We will try to arrange fireworks training this year in May.

-There is an APS meeting in St Louis on April 12-14th.

-Plan for our Lunar Eclipse Open House: Wednesday, February 20, 8-10 pm
