Minutes of Sep 4 Club Meeting

Physics Club Meeting - September 4th 2008

*Introductions:

        Welcome to Physics Club!

*What We Do:

        Put on Open houses, APOP (Augustana Physics Outreach Program), Alternate Weekly meetings- accompanied by pizza and baked goods if we're lucky, Fundraisers, and having a super fun time.

*Open Floor:

        Dues- Decided on $5 dollars a term or $10 for the whole year

        Donations- To global affect for a bike with our logo on it?- Yes, amount ?

                - To the QCA Robotics Team?- Yes $50

        Club Events/Outings- Go to the Park, Picnic, Host an Alumni lunch, go to Fermi-Lab, go bowling, get a netflix account, host a panel discussion, go see The Dark Knight on IMAX.

                -The Dark Knight at IMAX is a definite go.... which Sunday to go on is yet to be determined.

*Demos - need to make a comprehensive list

*Upcoming Events:

        Trebuchet Re-Build- need people to sign up and put available weekend times. It needs a shorter throwing arm

        Homecoming- We will have a table on the lower quad

                Need people to sign up to be on our rope pull team

                Regatta Race: Boatbuilders- Alaina, Louis, Cecilia, Jake, Ryan, Zach, Jess, Jeff

*Fundraiser- Volunteer @ haunted house. Do concession stand

*APOP- Talk to Jake if interested

*Open House- Olympic Theme: Sunday, Sept. 28th from 1-4pm

        Possible Demos: Elasticity, Friction, Projectile Motion, Drag, Angular Momentum, Timers

*Astronomy Open House- Nov. 1st from 7-8pm. Be there at 6:30 to help

Dr. Vogel! I just wanted to let you know if your doing an Olympic theme, I could possibly get the Track and Field team to volunteer. If you would like any ideas, please let me know I will try to stalk the Physics lab. If not I can randomly just throw ideas on your blog. :D Yay Olympics!!
