Physics Club Minutes 4/21/11

Minutes of April 21st Meeting, thanks to Natalie:

Scout Outreach-"Scoutreach" is happening on Friday, May 6.
Volunteered: Stuart, Ethan, Hillstrom, Natalie, Nathan, M. Warren, G, Andrew Palm, Andrew Kim. Brady needs to check the date
Demo ideas needed-Liquid Nitrogen + Marshmallows

The CAVE at Arsenal Island trip was planned for a Thursday at 2:30, but it conflicts with engineering classes, lab, etc. No other day decided upon.

The budget needs to be decided as soon as possible. We have $600 to spend.
Ideas: Cool demos, more building projects, more ducks for liquid nitrogen demos, shirts.

Mark's T-shirt design was presented-three body diagram joke.

There are potential competitions for projects that physics club can do.

IMSA is having a "Science Explorers" science outreach program for elementary students June 6-10 in Rock Island and they need volunteers.

Graduation ducks are going to be sold during weeks 9 & 10.
Natalie, Andrew Palm, G, Brady, M. Warren, Hillstrom, Andrew Kim are potentially able to help sell them.
Stuart-Make the congratulatory card more appealing.

Other ideas: Physics Club Cookout, numbering the ducks as a raffle with prizes donated by a local company, assuming the ducks float upright.

Next year, it might be a good idea to coordinate calenders.
