Physics Open House and Scolarship Competition

Don't forget that on Saturday, prospective students will be on campus for Augie's Open House and Scholarship Competition.

Part of the physics and astronomy department's open house depends on current (and former?) students. Augie students can offer the high school students a perspective on what it is like to be a physics major and/or physics club member. And show off our outreach toys!! If you can help out, let me know.

The prospective students' schedule looks like this:

9:00 a.m. Check-in, continental breakfast, information fair

9:45 a.m. Welcome Address

10:15 a.m. Departmental Open House (parents & students)

11:30 a.m. Scholarship Competition (students)

11:30 a.m. Financial Assistance Seminar (optional for parents)

12:30 p.m. Lunch, Tour, Wrap-Up with Admissions, Student Activities Fair

So they are with us from 10:15 - 12:15ish. The most important time for the Augie students to be around is before the competition, but if this year is anything like last year, it won't take an hour for the competition. There will be more time for playing with toys afterward.

If you need me to be there on Saturday I can probably make it. Provided I don't stay up too ridiculously late on Friday night. Just say the word and I'll be there.

Sure - come on down!
We do have a couple others, so don't knock yourself out to get there, but it'll be fun!
