Minutes of Physics Club mtg 9/1/11

Minutes thanks to Natalie:

Projects:
*Building a wind turbine. We need to come up with designs, buy materials and build/find a time to build it. Next Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 11:30 there will be a meeting about it. Email Andrew Kim at andrewkim09@augustana.edu with ideas.
*Building a solar oven to eventually sell "solar hot dogs" on the quad as a fundraiser.
Social:
*Apple Picking at Stone's Apple Orchard is happening within the next few weeks.
*Liquid Nitrogen ice cream with ACS Friday, Sept. 9, 6-8:30 pm in an undetermined lecture hall.
*There will be a Halloween party on the Monday of finals week.
Outreach:
*The Girl Scout outreach that was cancelled last year needs to planned.
*Physics Club building competitions.
*There's a possibility of having alumni speakers come in to physics club and talk about their careers and give advice.
Service:
*A. Palm is going to talk to his fraternity about a possible joint service project.
*High school robotic competition teams would like possible mentors with their projects.
Fundraising:
*Selling Ice Cream Bars in the quad for $1.
*T-shirt sales

Dues for physics club are $5/term or $10/year to be turned in to Ahmed Abuzant or Dr. Vogel.
Meetings will be moved from Thursdays to Tuesdays at the same time due to conflicting labs.
